International Law Firm | Aachen, Germany

German Inheritance-Estate-Probate Law for US and US clients, Unfair Competition, German Commercial

Urban Thier & Federer Rechtsanwälte is a German International law firm specializing in civil law, specifically in commercial and corporate law, international tax law and German and international inheritance law.

The firm was founded in 2005 and represents German and international clients regarding complex contracts, frequently but not limited to contracts between German and US companies or German and UK companies. The law firm cooperates closely with the American law firm Urban Thier & Federer P.A. and is therefore particularly focused on the area of German, European and American law via our US colleagues. With offices in New York, Atlanta, Connecticut, Los Angeles, Houston,  Orlando and Palm Beach in the USA as well as London and Munich in Europe, UTF Attorneys at Law offer competent and efficient advice and representation in cross-border matters.

The firm’s Aachen office also offers consulting and representation in German – Dutch and German-Belgian legal matters. We work closely with law firms in the Netherlands and Belgium. In addition, the Aachen office offers clients from the western part of the Federal Republic of Germany the opportunity to be counseled locally and in German language on German-British and German – American matters concerning proceedings in the USA or Great Britain. Particularly in cross-border legal matters, it is often of decisive importance that the advising lawyer has knowledge of both German and foreign law. The language barrier in communication with foreign lawyers also often leads to the German client achieving a poorer result in negotiations or legal disputes abroad.

Urban Thier & Federer Rechtsanwälte aims at facilitating the communication with the foreign attorney working on the case locally as well as at improving the understanding of the German client for the requirements of the foreign law or procedure. In close cooperation with local colleagues, results can be achieved more quickly and ultimately costs can be reduced. Aachen offers an ideal location for an internationally operating law firm given its unique position as a border city with international connections in the EUREGiO region and excellent transport connections to Cologne and Düsseldorf as well as the Ruhr area and the Frankfurt area.
